2015 Favorites: Top Nail Polishes

If you check  #CNCmani on Instagram you will notice I didn't do nearly as many manicures in 2015 as I did the year before.  For some reason (life) I just didn't have much time to play around with nail polish.  When I did find the time, I used the same polishes repeatedly. Here are my most used nail polishes of 2015.

I have a thing for light colored polishes like Prissy Chrissy from ELF Cosmetics (Sold out). When I mess up it is not as visible on my cuticles and if they chip I don't look like I have given up on life.  However, sometimes I get a little bored and need to go crazy with nail accessories like studs.

I love Kiss Nail Accessories Starter Kit - It has everything an ammateur nail artist needs including studs, brushes, nail tape and more. $9.99 at beauty supply stores, Walmart and Walgreens

When you need a little bit of but put some Glitter on it, not just any old glitter, opt for something unexpected like JINsoon's Polka White ($18, Nordstrom).  It is layered over OPI Infinite Shine Nail Lacquer in You Can Count On It ($12.49, Sally Beauty)

Victoria Beckham's limited edition collection for Nails Inc had two polishes, Bamboo White and Jude Red. Bamboo white is my favorite.  It took 3 coats to get this look but it was totally worth it.  Duo $45, Sephora.com

I cycled through all three of these Dedorah Lippman polishes from the Desert Sands collection (L-R: Shifting Sands, Terra NovaDesert Moon).  It seems my mood for 2015 was muted and understated.  ($18, Sephora and Nordstrom.)

Absolutely loved this color.  It's not quite black not quite slate grey. It's perfect if you want to go half on goth -- it's My Guy from Nanacoco. Another winner from my COCOTIQUE Box.

Smith and Cult "Tendoroni"

Smith and Cult "Tendoroni"

I saw bottles for the Smith & Cult polishes and immediately wanted to try the brand.  I picked up two shades, Tenderoni and Feed the Rich -- Tenderoni won out as my favorite (and was stolen by my cousin.)  ($18, Neiman Marcus)

If shiny nails are a must then you need a top coat.  But not just any topcoat because if you are anything like me, times is always of the essence when doing nails -- even when just sitting on the couch.  Milani Quick Dry Top Coat not only delivers amazing shine and extends wear, but also cuts nail polish drying time. ($3.19, Drugstore.com)

This creamy eggplant purple (from my COCOTIQUE Box) is perfect when I want to mix things up.  It goes on smoothly and provides full coverage in two coats. Every EA Polish comes with a complimentary ring  to make each manicure even more special. $12, eapolish.com

Mischo Beauty "XO"

Mischo Beauty "XO"

XO is a part of Misho Beauty's Summer of Love collection.  It took 3 coats to get this lightly toasted peach look.  All Mischo Beauty polishes are 5 free.  ($18, MischoBeauty.com)

Mickey Mouse Me is one of my favorite nude nail polishes.  I have made several purchases and I'm sure I'll buy more in the future.  It's accented using a dotting tool from Kiss Nail Art Starter Kit with dots of Riri Hearts Mac Riri Woo.

The blackest shiniest nail polish I have ever used is from Maybelline's Color Show Back to Back Collection.  Patent Black is a must-have if you love black polish. $2.97, Walmart.com

The JINsoon Tila March Collection was everything I needed for Spring. I did this exact manicure twice in a row because I really love it. Doux -- the base color is now on my list of all time favorites.  ($18 each, Sephora.com)

This is the only red nail polish I wore in 2015.  I chose it because of the name - Jezebel. It has a jelly like finish and took three coats for the look above. ($18, Sephora)

This is the first Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish I have ever used.  I love their complete manicure formula and to me, it gives pretty much the same wear as the Miracle Gel.  Per-Suede  is great color when you want something between nude and orange.  ($9.99, Drugstore.com)

If you are a lover of manicures and you do them yourself, the right base coat is really important.  It helps to protect your nails from staining and extends the wear of your polish. Guerlain La Base Protectrice is one of my favorites. ($28, Sephora.com)
